- Four year olds
will learn basic soccer techniques through training stations ran
by trained soccer counselors (players/coaches). Parents will be
assigned to a team and will coach each game like in previous
years, counselors will be assigned to assist those who want
help. Game play will be the same as previous years. The
children play 3 versus 3 on small fields using small, "pug"
goals.
- Five and six
year olds will learn basic soccer techniques through training
stations . Parents will be assigned to a team and will coach
each game like in previous years, counselors will be assigned to
assist those who want help. Game play will take place on small
pre-marked fields with a player rotation that will ensure that
all players will be involved. Games will be short sided and
will focus on team play. After researching different programs
with Alabama Youth Soccer Association we will return to the more
open style of play to bring back the element of fun. The
progression of our youth is our top priority and any
recommendations from our parent associations will be used as our
guidelines. Thank you for your patience through this
exploration of how to best utilize our system and resources to
do what is best for our children.
The first Sunday
they meet with their respective teams, meet their coaches,
receive their team t-shirts and schedules, and practice together
with their teams. The first 30 minutes is devoted to player
development. Two back to back "games" will fill the remaining
time. Teams will move from field to field according to the game
schedule. Parents should bring blankets or chairs to sit on,
water bottles and possibly umbrellas (for shade) and be prepared
to be encouraging spectators. Concessions will be open at the
fields. Shin guards are required and Cleated shoes (soccer or
t-ball) are recommended.

in their own "league", playing only other four year olds. Five
and six year olds will play together in a league on mixed aged
teams. Boys and girls play together.
